The Muppets Hit Blu-ray and DVD!

(SCROLL DOWN FOR GIVEAWAY)
“The Muppets” is debuting on Blu-ray this week! I loved seeing this movie in theaters and so happy that I get to rewatch it over and over again at home. The Muppets have been a favorite of mine since childhood. All those fond memories between the movies, shows and music I have been addicted. Watching them every week and singing along to the songs I thought I was part of their show. The Muppets play a key role in pop culture even though it’s been twelve years since their last movie. I was thrilled when I heard last year that Jason Segel was going to bring back The Muppets to the big screen.

“The Muppets” is about Walter who is a huge Muppet fan, his brother Gary played by Jason Segel and Gary’s girlfriend Mary played by Amy Adams who go on vacation to Los Angeles to view The Muppets Studios only to find out a devious man named Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) an oil tycoon is out to knock down the Muppet Theater to drill for oil. They decide they need to help Kermit reunite the Muppets to put on a show together to raise $10 million dollars to save the theater.

They need to travel near and far to find all the Muppets that have gone their separate ways. Onto the musical montage!  I love all the different back stories as to what each Muppet has been up to since they all split up. So many jokes and funny celebrity cameos going on here. My favorite is still when they say “let’s travel by map”. Don’t you wish we all could do that??

This movie has so many great songs and dance numbers that go along with the classic Muppet style. It features new songs and old school Muppet favorites like “Rainbow Connection”, The Muppets are coming to Bluray

Additional fun-filled features on Disney’s “The Muppets” Blu-ray include a groundbreaking industry first “Disney Intermission” a hilarious all-new feature that allows viewers to press Pause on their remote control and watch as the Muppets take over the screen and entertain until the movie resumes playing. This was such a new and cool feature. The release also includes “Explaining Evil: The Full Tex Richman Song”, an extended version of the rockllicking rap song by villain Tex Richman (Academy Award winner Chris Cooper) who provides the hilarious backstory of why he hates the Muppets. The bonus feature of The Longest Blooper Reel Ever Made is a riot! So many laughs there with tons of behind the scenes footage. Audio commentaries with screenwriter and star Jason Segel and director James Bobin and screenwriter Nicholas Stoller are also included.

There is something for everyone young and old with “The Muppets”. It is a sincere story based on friendship and sticking together. The first half is modeled from the original Muppet Movie and the end reacquaints us to the unforgettable Muppet Show.  Hopefully people will fall in love again with the Muppets and have a comical time doing so! Warning: you may also tear up I bit. I know I did. Go out and pick up this fun family favorite!

The Blu-ray/DVD is available on March 20, 2012.
