Cape May Cafe Character Breakfast

The character breakfast at Cape May Café at the Beach Club Resort has been one of our favorites for a long time. For those seeking a character breakfast that isn’t as “crowded” as the others, this hidden treasure is definitely worth it.

Jim & Minnie!

First of all, reservations definitely need to be made in advance, but it’s not one of those that are impossible to get into (with the proper planning). Goofy, Minnie and Donald (in beach gear!) are the featured characters at the breakfast, and every time we have visited, we have been fortunate enough to have MULTIPLE visits from each of the characters. Because the restaurant isn’t as big as someplace like Chef Mickey (another favorite of ours), the characters come around more and you have many more photo ops!

The food at the breakfast is great too! Let’s start off with the fact that they have Mickey waffles (yummm!) and there are plenty of them! Some of the other hot breakfast items are scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage and breakfast pizza! There is also fantastic French toast, which is to die for! The food choices don’t stop at the hot foods though. There is also fresh fruit, assortments of dry cereals, bagels and oatmeal. A yogurt bar features strawberry and vanilla yogurts with toppings. A bakery section offers selections such as chocolate croissants, cinnamon rolls and various danishes.

At $29 for adults and $16 for kids 3-9, this is at least a breakfast that may be off the beaten path, but worth it. We like to start off the day here for breakfast, and then take a nice walk over to Epcot to enjoy some rides!

By the way, my latest visit was just a few weeks ago WITHOUT kids (just my wife and I), and yes…even we had fun with the characters!

Cape May is a firm favourite of ours. My wife and kids like the characters and I like the fact the array of food is vast and high quality and it’s never overly busy. The layout of the restaurant is spot on, it’s neither cramped nor cavernous so I can easily make 3,4 or 5 trips to reload without over-exerting myself. Although perhaps that would be no bad thing given the amount of sausage and Mickey Waffles I tend to put away.

I was unaware of Breakfast Pizza though, that’s an oversight on my part that I will remedy next year
