Tortuga Tavern

As many of you know, the new hot spot for food in Magic Kingdom is now Tortuga Tavern. A Mexican flair and Pirates themed scene, the Tortuga Tavern (formerly El Pirata y el Perico) has been transformed to get ready for Pirates of the Caribbean 4, On Stranger Tides.  This restaurant is currently less crowded than many others, but with the Pirate launch coming, you can bet it will draw crowds by month end.  There is also no discount for AP (annual pass) holders.  It does have some good Burrito’s!

Menu is fairly simple, but a different take than standard burgers.Captain  Jack would be proud:

Burrito – Chicken or Beef 7.59
Filled with Cilantro Rice and Black Beans

Taco Salad 7.69
Crispy flour Tortilla bits with Seasoned Beef

Beef Nachos 7.29
Served with Black Bean Salsa, a favorite!

Vegetarian Burrito 7.09
Filled with Cilantro Rice and Black Beans

Topping bar included with all Entrees – Tomatoes, Cheese, Lettuce and Salsa (standard Mexican)

Kids menu could use some work:

Quesadillas 4.99
Two flour tortillas filled with melted cheese

Peanut Butter and Jelly 4.99

Tortuga Tavern, located right across from Pirates of the Caribbean ride is a very cool hang out and a different place to eat. Stop chasing burgers and fries and welcome in Tacos and Burritos! The fare is reasonable priced and the location can’t be any better. Disney plays a lot of the Pirates theme music when your in this area, so it gives you the feel that Captain Jack Sparrow might just stop in for some rum!
