Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party 2011

As the winds of fall start blowing from the North, sounds of ghouls starting running through my head.   I am brought back to my very first visit to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP).   It was Halloween Night 2002 and my wife, Monica, and I were on our honeymoon.  We had married two days earlier at Sunset Pointe behind the Polynesian Resort and decided we wanted to dress up for the party. So we caught a bus from the Grand Floridian to Downtown Disney and bought Aladdin and Jasmine costumes at the World of Disney.

It was an absolutely incredible feeling walking down Main Street towards the castle dressed up as Disney characters. There are so many children and adults dressed up as their favorite Disney characters or any other costume. The best part of the night happened when we were heading from our dinner at Tony’s Town Square.  We were stopped by a couple kids and asked for our autographs and a picture!  Being true Disney lovers, we acted the part and made sure the kids’ wish was fulfilled and they walked away happy.  As we made our way down Main Street towards Adventureland, I started to get the feeling a young child gets as they prepare to tackle all the houses they can during trick-or-treat.  I had plotted out our plan of attack on the MNSSHP trick-or-treat locations. My goal was to fill up my bag of candy and we had a blast!  The candy was plenty, the “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade rates as my all-time favorite parade, and the Happy HalloWishes fireworks round out the night.
