We are back with another installment of “Dear Disney Dads”. This week, we are changing things up a bit, with a question from a mom!
This week’s question comes from Tina. (irb_faerie32 on Twitter) Tina writes:
“I’m hoping you can help; we are planning a trip to Disney for April Vacation and I want to surprise my daughter with a stocking full of packaged Disney snacks like the ones you can buy at Goofy’s Candy Co. to let her know we’re going. My question is do you know if these items are available for purchase via the web or just on property? Thanks!”
Dear Disney Mom,
Well Tina, I must say, that is an excellent question, and to be completely honest with you, I did not know the answer when I first read your question! But fear not! After doing a little prowling around online I have an answer for you!
Disney itself does not provide Goofy’s Candy Co. merchandise for purchase online. Upon searching the DisneyStore.com I found that there are actually no food items for sale at all. In fact, Disney will not even ship food items from Walt Disney World to your home for you. This is due to the possibility that the food item could spoil. While it is unlikely that a packaged bag of candy would spoil in the mail, you can not blame Disney for covering all of their bases! Guests can though, obviously purchase food items and have them shipped home themselves. Disney will just not extend this service to you. That being said, they will ship home absolutely anything else you can buy on property!
Now, don’t think that I was going to leave you with that sad news without offering you some great alternative ideas! I looked around on DisneyFlorist.com, and there are several packages that include Disney snacks available for order, and you can actually have them shipped right to your home! Disney Floral and Gifts are most well known for delivering fabulous surprises to your hotel room, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that many options can also be shipped to the patron’s home. While none of the selections include snacks from Goofy’s Candy Co, they do include things like Mickey cookies, Chip and Dale Pretzels and more. This package is available for purchase at $35.00. Imagine your daughter’s excitement if she were to wake up on Christmas morning to find an “Ears to You” package waiting for her under the Tree! This would include personalized Minnie ears, an autograph book, and the aforementioned snacks. If you ask me, this is a pretty snazzy alternative to the Goofy’s Candy Co. Stocking!
I also happen to know that at MyMMs.com there is now a great selection of Disney graphics that you can have printed on M&Ms and shipped to your home. I’m sure your daughter would love a Stocking full of M&Ms with her name and her favorite Disney character on them! Also, I know at my neighborhood Walgreens, you can find tons of Disney themed candy that might just be the next best thing to Goofy’s Candy Co.!
If either of these things spark your fancy then I am going to let you in on one more little gem I found while perusing the web. I found some Goofy’s Candy Co. items for sale on Amazon.com. I am a little hesitant to relay this information because these items are available from individuals on the site, and not companies. So I really have no way to assure you that this would be a reliable source. You wouldn’t have any way of knowing how old the candy was, ect. But if you really have your heart set on having Goofy’s Candy Co. in your little girl’s Stocking, then it might be worth a try!
Tina, I hope that these suggestions help you to make your daughters Christmas morning as magical as her trip to Walt Disney World will be this April! And don’t forget to stop by Goofy’s Candy Co. in Downtown Disney! If you don’t make it Downtown, bags of Goofy’s Candy are readily available at most resort and park gift shops!
Now go get wrapped up in some Pixie Dust!
