Epcot’s 19th Annual International Flower and Garden Festival Kicks Off Today

Everything is coming up roses… and daisies, and tulips, and pansies, as well as 30 million other flowers for the 19th annual Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. Festivities kick off today, March 7th and run until May 20th. With 240 mini-gardens, and 700 larger gardens, Epcot will truly be a sight to behold! A favorite is always the Disney character topiaries, this year including an 8-foot tall Mickey topiary set to greet guests in front of Spaceship Earth as the enter the park. New this year is Bambi’s Butterfly House, where guests can actually walk among hundreds of topiaries that will be dining upon the nectar supplied by Bambi and friend’s topiaries.

The Festival is included with regular Epcot park admission and if you are so lucky as to land there on a weekend then you will be able to enjoy the Flower Power Weekend concert series with many oldies performers. This is also the first year that the Festival will feature an illuminated garden in the form of The Haiti Garden and Marketplace, intended to raise awareness about efforts to rebuild Haiti. This is the second year that HGTV will sponsor the event along with the DIY Network. Their celebrity designers and Show Hosts will be on hand Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 3pm to speak to guests.

So if Spring has sprung, the grass has ris, and you’re wondering where the flowers is, head on over to Epcot’s 19th Annual International Flower and Garden Festival. I have a feeling you’ll be happy you did!
